Has anyone else here had issues while on amiodarone.

Hello Willait,

I was put on Amiodarone a couple of years ago. Whilst it really helped with the terrible arrhythmia, I felt dreadful and developed tremors & numbness in my arms. I was taken off it after a couple of months & it’s been added to my ‘allergies/sensitivities’ list. I was very seriously ill at that time, though. My husband was on it for years with no ill effects at all.

I was given it before my first cardioversion, it gave me headaches so when they wanted me to stay on it I said “no” and now my cardio medical history states “allergic”. Plus I did not notice any benefit

I've been on a low dose (100 mg daily) for nearly 2 years .It is doing its job and keeping my heart beating in a regularly regular fashion

The only thing that seemed to change after starting Amiodarone for me was a productive cough after eating. Though this may be just a symptom of heart failure.

I had an IV infusion for VT while I was in hospital. Horrible. They had to stop it before it had finished as it was burning me so much, and the resulting lump on the inside of my elbow took 3 or 4 months to go down. It may well have helped the VT but it didn't do much for the rest of me

I was on 200- gms daily after post operative arrythmias following Aortic Dissection. Horrible. It made me look wierd and grey with yellowy eyes and gave me morning trembles. After a while of coming off it (and a halter showing arrythmia was OK for 24 hrs) I could relax. I will never take this again on a daily basis.
