Amiodarone
I am been taken off the ticagrolol and put on
Amiodarone
hopefully short term. All the cardiologists I have seen in the past were very reluctant to go down this route as the side effects can be severe. Does anyone else know much about this.

Dark brown urine... could it be my meds?
I was on
Amiodarone
for about 6 months, then went onto Sotalol for about 2 weeks and I'm now taking the follwoing: 2mg Diazepam 2.5mg Bisprolol 20mg Rivaroxaban I'm going to call my GP anyway, but it's sometimes really difficult to get through.

Coming off Amiodarone and INR
Recently had AF, which led to
Amiodarone
+ electrical Cardioversion. I successfully managed the INR change when I started
Amiodarone
. I figured a dosage change would be needed within a week, and I was right. I recently stopped
Amiodarone
. Q1.

Coming off Amiodarone
The cardiologist put him on the list for a cryo ablation, but in the meantime told him to come off
Amiodarone
and beta blockers and told him he no longer had heart failure. So, very gingerly and carefully, he's been weaning himself off the
Amiodarone
first.

Pacemaker
They managed to get my heartrate back to normal with
Amiodarone
& Digoxin, plus Ramipril....I'm on 17 tablets a day now! He says if the pacemaker doesn't work 100% then I'll be sent for an ablation, too.

Doctors attitudes.
Not helpful when you've had just spent 2 days in hospital with it, been on a
Amiodarone
drip to get your heart back into rhythm, gone home and your heart goes back out of rhythm within hours and the cardiologist who came to see me said that if my heart was out of rhythm for more than 2 hours I needed

Ablation/ICD
I'm now back on
amiodarone
, for a short time only, due to wicked side effects. It certainly stops the episodes, but I'll only be on it for a couple of months, then switch to yet another medication!

Low oxygen with slow heart rate?
I'm wondering whether Bisoprolol and
Amiodarone
have caused this by slowing his heart rate right down. Would anyone have any information on this, please? Incidentally, when his heart was racing in AF his Oxygen levels were around 95%.

AF
There's no doubt that
Amiodarone
is the best for AF, but very bad side effects if you're on it more than one year. The EP agreed. So, I'm back on it just til I've been permanently treated.

Wants to get off drugs
I would like to stop taking warfarin and having regular blood tests and stop
Amiodarone
. Is there any merit in doing so?

Question for more experienced Afibbers
It didn't respond to drugs and lasted till he was Cardioverted, when he had two weeks of NSR, then back to fast AF till he was given
Amiodarone
. A few days of
Amiodarone
and he went back into NSR and has stayed there ever since.

My Cardiologist
She prescribed
Amiodarone
and said she thought of it as the Domestos of the heart (encouraging) Today I have received my appointment which is for 24 April. I am not sure that I am going to have this procedure.

My cardiologist stopped me from taking
Amiodarone
last Aug, because I was so ill with it. I'd been on it for over 3 years and apparently, patients are'nt supposed to stay on it long term. So why was I? I was'nt put on an alternative, because we agreed I'd try without and see how I got on.
