Hope someone can give me some advice as my mum was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation last year, she was prescribed Bisoprolol and Apixaban. She’s also been prescribed water tablet- Furosemide. It took several months for my mum to get used to taking these medications. She was suffering from nausea when

Fluid restrictions ASCITES
My serum sodium is 137 mmol/L. Completely in normal range (133-146). I am taking spironolactone 300mg and furosemide 80mg. My question is how much do I need to restrict fluid intake for ascites due to cirrhosis?

Dapagliflozin and Furosemide together?
Hello everyone. Hope your all doing great. Just started Dapa today to add to the list (entresto, betas, apixban, eporlenone and Furosemide). I understand dapa acts as a diuretic like Furosemide. Are these drugs ok to take together. I never really liked Furosemide as it never really increased my need

taking Inspra/Eplerenone with Sando-K (as blood tests show potassium level low) and Bumetanide
My understanding of being prescribed Eplerenone is that it is a potassium sparing diuretic (stops any potassium being expelled from the body) to be taken alongside the Bumetanide which is a diuretic that expels all excess fluid. I was previously prescribed Spironolactone -another slightly stronger potassium

Furosemide
I have had rls for many years. I saw a neurologist for the first time at Newcastle (UK) last November, and she prescribed a low dose of Gabapentin (300mg) and iron infusion. After 6 weeks the iron infusion kicked in and virtually stopped the rls. However, I’ve started a bout of water retention, which

Inflammation of the toe
I’m 75, with AF, and have been suffering from a red , and painful middle toe for a number of days. Exercise is impossible, and I normally do a lot of walking, golf etc., so I’m not happy. I don’t think it’s gout - I’m not a drinker, or overweight. It’s worse at night, but is gradually responding to

Diastolic dysfunction.
I have been diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction. Does anyone else have experience of this? The doctor has put me on furosemide. I worry if this leads to heart failure.

Apprehensive
I have had Furosemide added to my prescription due to fluid retention in my feet and ankles, due to mild heart failure associated to persistent AF. There are loads of side effects associated with it. GP says we have to monitor kidney function closely as I am stage 3CKD. Just wondered if anyone on here

Is anyone on furosemide for water retention?
I've just started with it, but don't seem to be peeing much more yet. Wondering how long it takes to get going, as the swelling in my legs abdomen, etc quite bad now.
