Dapagliflozin and Furosemide together?

5 Replies

Hello everyone. Hope your all doing great.

Just started Dapa today to add to the list (entresto, betas, apixban, eporlenone and Furosemide).

I understand dapa acts as a diuretic like Furosemide. Are these drugs ok to take together. I never really liked Furosemide as it never really increased my need to pee nor have i suffered from water retention.

Dapa though seemed to work quickly on this.

The doc says to ask the cardiologist (helpful). Anyone else taking these two together?

An interesting post as I was switched from 80 Furosemide to 40 Furosemide + Dapagliflozin + Spironolactone and I found I was peeing less. I worked out Furose passed my system in 5hrs, the mix 3hrs, one thing my consultant said was the new drugs removed water from a different location (presumably different way), I think he said it worked more in the upper body area but can't be sure as it was a few months ago.

Furosemide can be stopped, depends on your symptoms, speak with your consultant or GP

Hey I take both of those together in the morning. I definitely pee more but I'm guessing everyone is different x

Hello

Yes on both as well ,

I take 80mg Furosemide in the morning and the Dapagliflozin @ 10mg in the evening { along with a list of others }

Heart nurse is still not pleased with my fluid retention { even with Spironolactone added } so will be trying another water tablet to replace the Furosemide as the others do more than just remove fluid.

Take care
