I have just posted this in a reply so thought I would try to get a response, and more information here.

Just back from seeing Heartt Failure Nurse, she has started me on Entresto from Thursday Night need to get the Canardesartan out of the system first. This follows a few hours overnight in Hospital with multiple Ectopic Beats 1 Ectopic for every 1 Heart Beat and Low pulse 30s. I have to keep on with all other meds Bisoprolol 10mg Furosemide 20mg Eplerenone 25mg Clopidogrel 75mg, Aspirin, 75mg Pravastatin, 10mg, Isosorbide Mono nitrate 40mg I am hoping if the Entresto works OK I will be able to dump some of the other Meds. Anyone got rid of other meds following this route ?

Entresto is a great drug for many with CHF. Hopefully your doc has started you on a low dose and will see how that works for you then gradually increase your dosage. Everyone reacts to every drug differently.

You are pretty much on the same regime of drugs that my husband is on - and he started taking these 20 years ago after a visit to the Cleveland Clinic when some of the drugs were just introduced. My husband is still very active albeit I don't know if it's age or the CHF but in the last year he has lost a big of energy - he will be 84 in May.

We were instructed to take the statin drug at bedtime in that if taken in the morning you are more aware of the side affects. The Isosorbide Mono Nitrate is best taken in the morning in that it a type of slow release nitro that relieves you from angina so again it's best taken for its affects during the day when you are most active. It may take a few days or a week for your body adjust to the Entresto, like any new drug introduced to your system it takes time to adjust to medication. I remember when my husband started taking clopidogel - he had such gas for a week he blew the covers at night up to the ceiling. After two weeks he adjusted to it and its benefits outweighed the "adjustment" period. However, if the medication's side affects are such that your energy level takes a dive or if you feel dizzy or light headed call your doctor!

Keep a daily log of your BP and Pulse - you can buy an economical BP machine on Amazon that will read your BP and Pulse and show it on the screen. Be sure to be seated and relaxed with your feet on the ground (don't cross your legs) your arm should be at a 90 degree angle - my husband sits in his chair with his arm on the chair rest and the machine on the side table. Get the cuff model - the wrist and finger monitors are worthless. Also keep a daily tab on your weight.

Take all this info to your doc the next time you see him. Many folks don't do this but this information is very valuable to your doc to know what your dailys are - too many times they don't know whether your BP is high or it's white coat syndrome when they take your vitals at the office visit. It helps them better diagnosis your progress.

Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Yours From Across the Pond
