How can I find out whether I have diabetes type 1 or type2 or other ?
The home page asks you to mention your type of diabetes. Obviously there is some significance. May be the advice I may seek from other members will depend upon my type ?

Switching from tablets to Insulin
I am a diabetic since 17 years and it is under control most of the time.I am taking only oral drugs now,but cannot depend on them any further since I am on high doses. The Doctor may therefore advice me (he has hinted)to switch over to Insulin for better control. What I would like to know is how does it

Early morning Hyperglycemia (High Blood Glucose)... for TYPE 1 Diabetics... Be aware
If you get a Hyperglycemia (High BG Level) in the mornings adjust your insulin dosage as per the recommendation of the doctor. The TWO reasons for it are: The reason 1 for this occurrence is due to the reason that after the onset of sleep, there is a surge in the secretion of growth hormone. This

The complexity of type 1 diabetes... The history of BG control...
Unlike Type 2 which onsets late in life, Type 1 is an early pecker in ones life. Its imperative to understand how Type 1 affects the day to day life of an individual. Starting from the insulin shots and timely management of food. Had been a diabetic for the past 20 years, I was thunderstruck when the

Bacterial Meningitis, Sceptacemia and Type 1 diabetes
Does anyone know if there has ever been any research done on adults who have had Men B and are also Type 1 diabetic? The reason I ask this is that I contracted Men B in 2011 and anytime I seek advice or am referred to specialists regarding my recovery and ongoing fatigue, joint problems, memory/concentration

Elevated LFT's and low Anti Trypsin
Also found low levels and abnormal phenotype for
Alpha
1
Antitrypsin
(PiMZ). Ultrasound showed slight fatty liver. Diagnosis was NAFLD or less likely NASH. I'm in early 40's in good shape, low body fat, with low alcohol consumption, good diet and regular exercise.

Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency
If you have early signs of lung damage between the ages of <25 to 40 years of age ask your Dr to test for
Alpha
1
Antitrypsin
Deficiency, this is the only genetic condition that causes early Emphysema and destruction of lung tissue.

Has anyone found a link with PD and Diabetes?
I have recently been told that I am a borderline group 2 diabetic and was wondering if this was in any way connected to PD. Probably a ridiculous question, but have gained so much information from this site that thought it worth asking whether others have been diagnosed diabetic. Yet another hurdle
