Had an NStemi and stent fitted in Oct last year. Obviously a shock and have been following all advice, did cardiac rehab and going on daily walks and gym twice a week. I asked GP surgery for cholesterol blood test to see if it had gone down further and particularly if bad cholesterol had gone down. However

High Peak Flow but Wheezing and Phlegm x 4+ Months and Intense Fatigue
High Peak Flow but Wheezing and Phlegm x 4+ Months and Intense Fatigue I usually only get asthma as a secondary condition - with hayfever or a chest cold, etc. Since the first week of January, I've had constant fluid on the lungs - now a yellowy brown, which I cough up - but wouldn't say I have a

Seeking Diagnostic/Treatment Ideas
As an American living among far less progressive standards I’m so glad to discover this community. I’ve been trying to focus my brain cells to make this brief as I can. Thanks in advance for your generous reading. I’m a 60 year-old female who has for five years reported memory and cognition changes

Happy holidays, need help, exhausted after med change
Hi friends, I last posted after raising my meds a bit 5 months ago. Was doing ok on that but still needed a little T3 so tried adding liothyronine (again) and it felt good for a while but then started up with side effects after a bit. I was doing a tiny amount...started with 2.5 mcg daily and then tried

Need advice about T3 levels
Hi, I have had some tests recently which included thyroid levels and my free T3 levels are 3.1 which appears to me, to be right on the borderline of normal. The free T4 and the TSH are fine by the look of them. Im just wondering if that T3 level is a bit low. I dont have any symptoms I would describe

Have you disclosed your self-medication to GP?
Hello Everybody, I've been successfully self-medicating with T4 and T3 or NDT, without GP's knowledge, since 2016. For the 30 years before that I could not get diagnosed for hypothyroidism because I am borderline central hypothyroid and my TSH never got high enough for the NHS diagnosis criteria.

Good News
Hello Lovely Members So I just had my dreaded Endo appointment at Royal Berkshire Hospital and the Endo prescribed me T3 but wanted me to add in 50mcg of Levo as my TSH is so suppressed and my T4 levels are non-existent. I agreed to try. I think this Endo is not on our list so his name is Dr ([i]name

T3 prescribing
My endo and gp have decided to remove my prescription for Liothyronine and want me to be on levo only. I'm in Cumbria. May I have the list of T3 doctors or endos that might prescribe lio on the NHS, if there even is such a thing. I can buy my own but my supply is reliant on someone else bringing it

Dr declining Levo increase
I was diagnosed with autoimmune hypothyroidism last August. Currently on 75mcg levothyroxine. Symptoms are better but not gone as much as I’d hoped so requested an increase via letter as couldn’t get appt. They then phoned me for a telephone appt but said as numbers are in range they won’t agree to

Are these results okay?
Hi,I have been having overwhelming fatigue resulting in me needing to sleep during the day most days, which is most unlike me. I have also been having heavy periods every 3 weeks, sometimes even less, last cycle was 19 days. Terrible brain fog and inability to concentrate. GP said it could be thyroid

Heart Attack at 38
Hi, I first posted on the thyroid board but was sent here to check with the knowledgeable people here. At the end of January I had a heart attack. The doctors said it was due to taking T3 for my thyroid but I’ve read a lot of conflicting information as to whether T3 would cause this or not and the

Advice on Blood results please?
Hi, I'm not diagnosed with any thyroid problems but have had numerous blood tests over the last 4 years because of severe menopause symptoms that have not responded to HRT. Would you be able to have a look and see what you think please? I have also included some of the vitamins tested.

Ferritin Levels
Hello, Recent blood test shows Ferritin at 118 (30 - 650 ug/L). I'm struggling to understand if that's ok as the range appears to have changed. When it was tested in September 2023 it was 112 but the range was 15-200ug/L. Is the range change significant? My brain says it makes my level lower as

Timing and reasons for Thyroid blood tests
Recommended by numerous research papers that thyroid testing should be in the morning and before taking daily levothyroxine TSH has a circadian rhythm and is highest in early morning and lowest in afternoon Links to a few research papers and articles https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc
