At a loss and feeling ill
Went to Drs yesterday to request a referal to an endo, as I feel unwell, weak and wobbley - for well over a year now. I told him that I had paid for a private blood test to check my t3 levels, as the Nhs doesn't like doing them that often, and he totally refused to look at them. Said that, if theyre

Indigestion
I have a dull ache down my breastbone which comes and goes. Although I have a mild heart murmur it has been diagnosed as gastric related and I’ve been given Lansoprazole to try. I’m concerned as one of the side effects is osteoporosis of the hip - I already have osteopenia. Is this type of issue linked

Happy New Year! Newbie, posting results for help/advice please following my “shock” post in December
Still trying to digest everything from my December diagnosis of Hashimoto’s and advice given. Instead of adding to my previous post I thought it better to begin a new one to incorporate my blood results that several of you kind people requested. I still cannot fathom that I need to take medication for

Need your advice, pls, what should I take and how?
Hey all, I've been on a bit of a journey, unwell for the past few years, diagnosed 2012, did awesome on thyroid meds until...I didn't. Since I have now all cofactors optimal (vit D, B12, folate, iron, ferritin - after iron IV, magnesium), I feel my problem either stems from cortisol issues or balance

signs of mild hypothyroidism?
Hi there, New to this forum 👋 grateful to be here 🙏 I’m wondering if anyone could shine some light on my thyroid test results. In March 2023 my TSH was 0.98 (range 0.27-4.2), and my T4 was 15.5 (range 12-22) - this was done with a private GP so sadly no T3. These bloods were taken after 12pm and

Causes Of Breathlessness

Can anyone tell me why they test tsh when your on medication if it really serves no purpose. Isn't the free t3 and free t4 the main goal.

Ketones inhibit PCa, in the lab of course, but still...
Just came across an article about this study from Duke researchers. Interesting possibility for dietary intervention? Researchers stress that it's not about the diet, but presence of ketones.

Asymmetrical Transport of Thyroxine Across Human Term Placenta
This new study https://pure.eur.nl/en/publications/asymmetrical-transport-of-thyroxine-across-human-term-placenta is behind a paywall. I have a copy, it’s not easy to follow but essentially says little T4 crosses the full term placenta from mother to baby but T4 rapidly crosses from baby to mother.

Iron infusion flopped
Iron infusion flopped After my second iron infusion my serum ferritin catapulted from 55 to 588! Unfortunately, it did not stop the “bleed through”. Horizant, which is supposed to last 24 hours only controls my RLS for about 16 to 18 hours and then I get symptom bleed through. I was hoping that at

Vasculitis Awarenes Month
May is vasculitis awareness month. Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA) is inflammation of the small and sometimes medium sized blood vessels. It usually affects the renal function and/or lungs. Get a glimpse of Gemma's journey with MPA vasculitis. If you would like to donate to Vasculitis UK, please

Supplements
Hi lovely people. Just a question. In the past, I have had v low iron, folate rock bottom and prob other vitamins low that I never had checked. I have worked a lot on my micro biome/gut this past year plus supplementing continuously. I cut out gluten as leaky gut was diagnosed through a test.

Peak flow app with reminders
Can anyone recommend a peak flow recording app for iPhone that notifies you when it’s time to take a measurement? I’ve been using asthma md but it doesn’t have this feature and I keep forgetting to take my peak flow. Thanks in advance.

Hello lovely, knowledgeable folks - belated 'Happy New Year' to you all! After an increase of levothyroxine (LT) in November 2023 from 50 mcg/ day to 75 mcg/day, I had back-to-back tests on 02 Jan. (Medichecks - professional blood draw) and 03 Jan. (NHS), to see comparable results. Both tests were
