How to convince a GP to prescribe estradiol patches?
I've been busy with
ADT
for almost 5 years and one of the most insidious SE has always been hot flushes. I find them quite debilitating as, when they hit (and that's often), I'm briefly incapable to concentrate/perform any task.

Dutasteride Monotherapy is effective for Newly Diagnosed PCa men not on ADT
Neither group is on
ADT
. Dutasteride monotherapy (0.5 mg/day) causes an average drop in PSA of about 50% in both Groups, and an average drop of about 20% in prostate volume. In one man, his PSA dropped from 43 to 3 (a 93% drop)!

melatonin
I would not recommend high dose melatonin for us who are on
ADT
and abiraterone. Impairs dexterity and cognitive ability.

Bicalutamide Vs Eligard
I'm just starting my journey which will involve
ADT
and RT. The RT is scheduled to happen in early July and
ADT
to start soon. No spread according to Pet scan. Gleason 4+4 and PSA 7.9. Absolutely no symptoms whatsoever, feeling good for a 65yo. RO doesn't seem to be in any hurry.

Vacation from ADT
I searched but only came up with vacations at two years or so. I had a meeting with my MO today. He is conservative but suggested I could stop the meds. I was complaining of brain fog. He said to stop the Abi for about three weeks to see if there is any improvement and if not, stop Lupron. My story

Low T3
My endo will like me to come off
ADT
in feb once I’m back from holiday. My t3 levels have come back low and I’m not what it means. Also my gp never tests me t3.

PSA Gone Up
I had RP in January of 2023, started
ADT
in May of 2023 and went through 38 session of SRT between July and August. In am currently on my second six month dose of Eligard and it should be done in May of this year. In November 2023, I had my first PSA test since SRT and it was .008 ng/mL.

Testosterone too high?
I recently had my quarterly PSA and T tests, following stopping 18 months of
ADT
(Orgovyx) in April of 2022. PSA continued to de undetectable (<0.01) and T was 761. The last quarterly T was 706.

Does this mark the beginning of castration resistance?
Can anybody please let me know whether this is reasonable fear given this increase and perhaps what options others have found that may help him perhaps prolong
ADT
?

Into the Great Unknown
As much as I looked forward to finishing up treatment and getting my body back from the
ADT
gremlins, I now realize that I now face a new set of unknowns and anxieties. Thanks for all of your thoughts and information that have gotten me this far.

ADT - HOT FLUSHES AND CALORIES CONSUMED
A routine I have kept up during my current first course of
ADT
treatment. Was wondering if anybody else has experience of the correlation between food eaten and the intensity of the flushes.

Any Data or MO Advice Regarding Dutasteride / Finasteride At Very Early Biochemical Recurrence?
I'm wondering if early use of either of these alone may delay the necessity for
ADT
and/or delay metastasis in the long-run. I cannot find any long-term studies addressing this.

Things I Like About ADT
Eventually Darolutamide and Taxotere chemo would be added to bring that PSA down to 0.0, but in doing the obvious math the
ADT
clearly did all the heavy lifting. Bottom line, most of us are extremely fortunate to have a cancer that responds well to
ADT

Return of Armpit Odor - Yikes!!!
Attributable to full
ADT
(for metastatic PCa) and suppression of testosterone. (I'm on Triplet Therapy.) This morning I was surprised to notice odor for the first time since diagnosis. Due shortly for blood panel including PSA. However, I have never had a testosterone test, that I recall.

There are also some studies that show ivm to reverse
adt
castrate resistance once it starts if one chooses to continue to go that route…

PSA to have stabilized after skyrocketing. What does this mean?
Since I’m not on any kind of
ADT
since last August, it appears that my immune system has at least slammed the brakes on the cancer. What do you guys think?

Where do I go for alternative to continuous ADT?
I want to an alternative to continuous
ADT
, whether its IADT, BAT or something else, in hopes of preventing castration resistance. I live on the East Coast of U.S. I exercise a lot each day and have cleaned up my diet.

Will T return?
As I near the end of my 2 years of
ADT
(Lupron + Abi), I am curious if I should expect a return of Testosterone. I would love to regain my libido and endurance. But after 2 years, I don't know what to expect. My MO has been pretty vague about what to expect.

Spine metastasis
Is this something they would get a PSMA TEST for to confirm and also would he just receive
ADT
with radiation to primary site or are there also new combination therapy we should look into. Thanks in advance to everyone willing to share their well earned wisdom .

Is there such a thing as too fast of a recovery of T on iADT 🫨
After 2 years of
ADT
, I decided against continuing on that for life and to initiate iADT. Otherwise known as "taking a vacation".I am now 10 weeks without
ADT
, and my testosterone is already at 104. My questions this time are for others here who have had a similarly quick return of testosterone.
