Having vaccine on a Actemra day?
Has anyone heard whether it isn’t a good idea to have the jab on the same day as your Tocilizumab day?

Actemra
Hi guys, I have just started self injecting
Actemra
once a week as the drugs I started on have not worked in reducing my discomfort. Has anyone found this helpful to take and how long was it before any benefits were felt? I have been on it for 3 weeks now and no success yet.

Several variables and unknowns~
Almost 4 weeks ago, my rheumatologist started me back on
Actemra
weekly. I felt better without it, but he feels I need it as we will start tapering down from 12mg prednisolone, which I'm sure my body will appreciate (I hope).

I paid the doctor....now for your input!
The rheumatologist told me today that he wants me to stay on
Actemra
for another month before tapering. AND....he is going to switch me from prednisolone (Been on —solone for 15 months) to prednisone per day for this coming month and then begin to cut the dosage.

Covid vaccine get it or not?
He also takes
Actemra
biweekly. Anyone else out there taken the vaccine or not? He is driving me crazy to get it. He is retired military, and I am going to wait until we can get it at the Hospital and not in the home!! I believe in safety and not having him in line for 4 to 5 hours waiting.

Off Actemra
Rheumatologist said okay to go off
Actemra
, but not sure if that's the cause. Although
Actemra
is contraindicated for people with gastrointestinal problems. I'm on only 5 mg prednisone and no GCA or PMR symptoms. Been on
Actemra
nearly one year.

Any experience of having GCA and Actemra (TCZ) being discontinued while still trying to taper steroids
Diagnosed with GCA June 2019. Tried to taper Prednisolone but had a few flares so was prescribed TCZ (weekly injections) to see if it would help. I succeeded in being able to taper twice to approximately 18mg Pred/day but then have had flares and to get the inflammation under control have had to increase

Does anyone have any experience with
actemra
for treating pmr and gca? I was diagnosed with pmr in February of this year. Rheumatologist started me on 40 mg of prednisone. By the end of May I had tapered the prednisone to 12.5 mg and became very sick.

Back to sports?
A few days ago I posted about my likely diagnosis of a large vessel vasculitis (LVV-GCA), which I got after 3 months of fever and feeling really bad. Before the fever episode I have been always doing lots of sports - mainly road, gravel and mountain bike riding and running. Last spring and summer I

Tocilizumab/atlizumab/Actemra and exercise intolerance
He said he would try
Actemra
(possibly in combination with something else). I've been reading a lot about it, and not to get overly nerdy, it is an antibody against the IL-6 receptor.

Anyone only taking Actemra
I’ve been on
Actemra
injections over 3 seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I really am against using Prednisone

Will I ever be off pred with GCA?
I have been told by my rheumatologist , that I will be on
Actemra
and 5mg pred for the rest of my life. I visited an eye doc for some problems with my eyes, and he was very surprised to find out I was still on prednisone after 2 years of my diagnosis.

PMR flare on Actemra?
I'm taking 6 mg pred and have been on
actemra
10 months. Can this be PMR? I thought the
actemra
would keep that from happening. Rheumatologist is out until next week. PCP said to increase prednisone to 7 mg.

Prednisone tapering and Acterma
So my Rheumi suggested trying
Actemra
to help to reduce prednisone. I am not sure if it will help. Any advice?

Actemra fatigue
I’ve been giving myself my
Actemra
injection every Monday morning at 7:00 am. By 10:00 I feel like a freight train has hit me- not sick just really tired. I’m thinking maybe I should inject at night. Anyone else feel like this? Is it alright to inject at night?
