Cramps with GCA?
A bit scary and am wondering if I should go back to 10mg or persevere with 9.5mg, very slow going with tapering, despite weekly
Actemra
? Any advice? Anyone else troubled by cramps? I take magnesium 1000mg at night and a multivit in the morning, as well as the Prednisone. Thanks in anticipation š

Cellulitis absence...but I'm back
Immediately when I saw the redness, I knew I probably should stop my
Actemra
, TCZ. The rheumatologist verified that, so I had not taken it for over three weeks. I'm supposed to drop another mg. of pred on July 13, and I believe I will ask him if I should hold off.

Sleep Apnea
Pred 12 years,
Actemra
2 years. My blood pressure goes up when I sleep. I am scheduled to be tested for sleep apnea. I am wondering if this is why I can't get any remission or control of this illness?

After going off prednisone for GCA, how long do you continue with actemra?
But...on average after tapering off prednisone with
actemra
, how long do you continue taking
actemra
alone? Is it determined by when you have no more flares? How do they tell GCA has gone into remission?

Bacterial Eye infection/conjunctivitis
I think I read somewhere that
Actemra
can cause eye problems but could have imagined it.

Fluid Retention adding to my walking difficulty
The fluid problem started at the beginning of the year, I was on 13mg Pred then (now 6) and around that time I started
Actemra
injections which raised my blood pressure and I was put on Losartan & Indapamide which has worked for BP well.

Started
Actemra
in March 2021 and have been on monthly infusions since. Subsequent MRAs show improvement. On November 1, 2021 I stopped Prednisone.

Actemra injection skin reaction
A couple of weeks ago I asked if anyone had the skin reaction to weekly
Actemra
injections because I was getting a large itchy red rash right across my thigh that lasted about 4 days. Its a very common reaction apparently.

When does Pred decrease let adrenals kick in?
Actemra
, too, once per week. So far, the move from 7mg to 6mg has been the hardest. Lots of fatigue over three days. It's a 14 percent decrease which isn't a small amount. I am sure it varies, but anyone know when my adrenals will start functioning?

Actemra and chest discomfort
Tomorrow will be my third injection of
Actemra
as I attempt to taper from 40 mg daily down to 30 mg daily. I have more headaches than usual but nothing I canāt live with. But for the last two weeks Iāve had what feels like a big gas bubble in my chest and through to my back (right side).

2nd booster, fourth shot, all is well
I am currently on
Actemra
, 9 mg prednisone, and 20mg methotrexate. I stopped the methotrexate prior week and again this week, in hoping to improve efficacy of booster. Always grateful for post and information found here. š

My GCA Story
I started tapering off prednisone, a six month taper, along with beginning weekly
Actemra
injections. Fortunately, I qualified for getting
Actemra
for free, as it is ridiculously expensive. I got off prednisone in January and was doing great on
Actemra
only.

Curveball: Actemra and Fosamax!
I got a second opinion on my PMR situation and the new doc immediately wanted to put me on
Actemra
and Fosamax. I didn't agree to do it yet, so I could query folks here about it and think on it.
