Can levothyroxine cause hypothyroidism?
This happened about 25 years ago: I had hashimoto's and a large goiter, but tsh and thyroid hormones were normal. Before starting levo I had some symptoms: dry, fine hair, some cognitive issues... but I felt almost healthy and was active 17 hours a day). When levo was prescribed, I felt very cold and

Hi forum friends I went to my gp Friday to see what help I might get re my thyroid now and also if I might see a haematologist re high serum iron but low ferritin (28 …5-204) thus can’t take three arrows. I didnt get many answers as he concentrated on a current kidney/uti issue I have so he’s booked

I take my 75mcg of levothyroxine at bedtime and T3 2.5 mcg at midday and 2.5 at 4pm. So I know I miss my bedtime levothyroxine until after the test but when should I take my 4pm T3? Please and thank you. 🥰

Nurse phone call update
I put the results of my thyroid and cholesterol blood test result on here the other day and today I heard back from the nurse who said my Thyroid was fine “within the range” the usual thing. but my cholesterol was very high at 8 which I knew. So, as always, just concentrating on my cholesterol levels

T3 only. No tests to compare to, only TSH. How much T3?
I have had a very rocky road trying to get better with Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism. When on levothyroxine only, I had increased via GP from 25mg to 50mg and then I needed an increase to 75mg. A lot happened but now I am with my second endocrinologist (my choice) who has prescribed T3 only due to levothyroxine

Low TSH levels
Hi, I am hypothyroid and have been taking levothyroxine for about 8 years. Until recently, I have been fine with it and not suffered from fatigue. I take 150mg daily and have done for some time. However, looking back at my blood test results, I have noticed that my TSH levels are rather low and have

Teva medication
I saw the concern about Teva adding mannitol to levothyroxine on this site 5 yrs ago. My new medication from Lloyds direct has been changed to Teva without being informed. I have also recently been informed I have ibs. I am not prepared to accept E-numbers or risk being ill due to the change. Has anyone

Hashimoto advice please
hello, I have had an underactive thyroid and been on Levothyroxine 75mg since 2015. Last November I had a private blood test done as I had been struggling with lots of ‘symptoms’ and wondered if my thyroid could be the cause and it showed I have Hashimoto’s disease which I understand is an autoimmune

GP Levothyroxine review appointment today
Today I had my appointment with the GP to review my Levothyroxine. He introduced himself as the GP that I am registered with not the one I was told I would see. He is Indian and even using the microphone that bluetooths directly into my hearing aids he was very difficult to understand. Several times

Hello everyone. I am hoping for some advice. Following a recent blood test I have now been asked to reduce my Levo. Currently on 75 and now I am reducing to 50 for 2 days a week and maintaining 75 for the rest as I am slightly over medicated. I have been taking Teva 75 and would like to stay with

Bone health
I think I’ve asked this but I’m not sure I understood. Please be patient with me. If calcium and therefore also calcium rich foods - dairy obvs but also green leafy veg, soya etc, suppress levothyroxine, what do we do for bone healthy foods?

Recent blood results, help interpreting
Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a while, but would like my latest blood results checked with the knowledgable people on here. I've been on a treatment of 125mcg of Levothyroxine and alternating days of 5mcg and 7mcg of liothyronine. I have been feeling better on this dose, and was slightly too highly

Help with results - what would you do?
Hello I finally got a private endo to agree to up my meds from 75mcg levothyroxine to 100 or112.5 if I felt it necessary in July 2023 allowing my TSH to fall below range, and that I understood and was willing to take the risks. My 3 pm slump was dangerous as I was fighting to stay awake on the way

Good Afternoon I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia following a Rhumatologist appt. June 2021 was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism + Hashimoto’s. Although, I have been on Levothyroxine since 2021 this has not helped with my exhaustion and other symptoms. My question is has anyone here been misdiagnosed

Gastroperesis a new symptom I've acquired.
For a month now I've been struggling with excruciating bowel pain in a morning and food not digesting on a night. Doctor said my ibs was back as I've suffered with it for decades until diagnosed with hypothyroidism and given levothyroxine then it all seemed to stop. Last year I had same issue and had

Well we're back to the Endo to be told we're trying Stop and Block again.
some may remember my thyroid story as it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm still a regular reader of posts. Tuesday the day all meds are being stopped. I refused the op to remove my thyroid and have it burned out through the great advice in here plus I wasn't keen on having a op at my age either
