I was taking 100mcg levothyroxine my blood test result was TSH 4.36. Doctor advised to increase to 125mcg 4 days of week and 3 days 100mcg. I did that for first week to adjust as I could feel the difference in taking higher dose. I have now just continued on 125mcg every day as I really want to get my TSH down to normal levels. I feel fine on the higher dose, only thing is that my eyes are now puffy in the mornings, never had this problem before. I will be getting my FTF tested again in 3 weeks. Do you think it’s OK to continue taking the 125mcg every day?

stay on 125mcg until you get tested and see results

Which brand levothyroxine is 100mcg

Which brand levothyroxine is 25mcg

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested

Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once to see if your hypothyroidism is autoimmune

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high TPO and/or high TG thyroid antibodies

what vitamin supplements are you taking

When were vitamin levels last tested
