Has anyone had gastric involvement with Sweets? I had an endoscopy with results of three ulcers and numerous red patches throughout the esophagus. Biopsy results non cancerous. I have ulcer symptoms everytime I have a skin outbreak. I believe these issues are related. Anyone else with this experience?

Hi Creynardo,
This isn't something I've experienced, but on rare occasions, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract (mainly intestine) has been reported in medical literature. The inflammation is neutrophilic - caused by white blood cells called neutrophils accumulating in the tissues.
Once or twice I've come across people with SS who've experienced oesophageal involvement.
Occasionally, SS can develop secondary to Crohn's disease (CD) which sometimes affects the oesophagus. In this case, when the CD flares up, the SS often will too.
My wife also had gastric ulcers associated with Sweets
If you don't mind me asking, how did they treat her?
