I’ve completed my 5K a few months ago and am still running semi regularly. The problem is that I am becoming aware that I need to cross train. I also work in a physical job (food production) and whilst I am okay to work, it’s almost as if all my other muscles have become weaker except the ones I use for work. My back has started to hurt and I just feel off physically. My core is VERY WEAK! SUPER WEAK!
I’ve looked for core workouts but they are all about getting abs or a trim waist. I DONT NEED ABS. I need to lose weight anyway but that’s a diet issue. I just need to stengthen my core so I can support my body better.
Can anyone recommend a dvd that will do this and is suitable for someone overweight?

Hi Ellie, hope you find something right for you. I’ve got some ideas you could look at, so hopefully you’ll find something in the links that fits your interests.
I was similar when graduating from C25k and also needed some structure for the next phase.
So what I did was use the NHS 12-week workout plan nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/1... throughout my consolidation period. It has the C25k plan integrated into that, but I just replaced it with consolidation 30min runs, increasing in the latter half up to 60min. My write up of that is here healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
It gave me a great introduction to all sorts of workouts, including the NHS Strengths and Flex podcast. The Strength and Flex Podcast can be done as it’s own 5 week program, link here nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/g...
After those 12 weeks (including 5 weeks Str & Flex) I put together my own 5-week running and workout plan aimed at exploring different workouts and focussing on some of my weak areas (knees). I posted just today here : healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
There are specific NHS workouts for back pain , something I also want to address but haven’t yet. So this one might be good:
