I know Yoga with Adriene already has a lot of fans on here, so I'd love it if you'd tell me about your favourite YWA video in the comments - let's share some tips!
If you haven't met her yet, Adriene Mishler is a Texan actress and yoga teacher who produces quality online yoga workouts. She has a subscription plan, but also supplies free workouts regularly on YouTube - including a yearly January plan with 30 new videos, and an additional free plan each month featuring previously released videos. She's great, and her videos often feature her dog Benji, who tends to sleep through the workouts π
I thought I'd try out this short, fun video on Friday. Since I'm inhabiting my own Inner Space a lot at the moment, it seemed appropriate! It was a great little workout. Adriene likes to add a little humour to her videos - sometimes she will break into song, or suddenly shout something, which I admit I can find a little jarring! But generally speaking I really like her style, even though she doesn't usually dress up in a green body suit and deely-boppers! Her yoga is in the Vinyasa style, so it's fairly active - but she always suggests modifications, and her mantra is "find what feels good", so the yoga can be done by anyone with a little practice.
Yoga for Inner Space Travel gave me a nice stretch-out. Not too taxing, some good, refreshing twisting moves, back-and-hamstring stretches, balances, and a really good feet-stretch in the squat near the end. I recommend - give it a go!!!
Oooh that looks interesting Abi, I'm a huge Adriene fan, having been introduced to her by linda9389 and Cheekychipmunks... she always makes me smile with her banter.
I've done the 30 days HOME plan and am now doing the 30 days DEDICATE plan...
Then I will look at the KISS schedule. New to yoga I'm finding these easy to follow and I'm able to find 'my version' of 'what feels good' for all her practises...
My fav so far has been HOME day 30...absolutely loved it!
Namaste π§ββοΈππ·π·xxx
On the Dedicate videos Benji nearly always gets up and leaves when she begins her first move....it's funny!π
Lol, I suppose Benji is getting used to the idea of hanging around. In a video I did recently he was fast asleep and having a dream that was making him twitch like crazy - Adriene kept cracking up laughing π
I love Adrieneβs Total Body Flow Deep Stretch practice. Itβs pretty hard core and some of the poses are a challenge, but I always finish it feeling very limber! π§ββοΈ
Iβm a huge Adriene fan, and have been using her videos for over 2 years now. Longer than Iβve been running in fact. The difference in my flexibility is massive, and I can always find a video for what I need. π
I only seem to ever remember the last one I did, and luckily the last one I did was a stunner: Yoga for Runners 2 - Cool Down. An 18 minute stretch comprising neck, shoulder, quads, calf and hip stretches. Just long enough to slot in after your post run shower π
Adriene is helping me back in to yoga after many, many years! At the moment I am doing Yoga for Complete Beginners(!) daily and also Yoga for Runners.π Love them and Adriene is brilliant - I am a convert!
Woo hoo Abi...just seen your reply to another post ... 4 more 30 days of Yoga plans with Adriene to enjoy. TRUE, REVOLUTION, YOGA CAMP and 30 days of Yoga with Adriene... fab news!
So pleased and excited, this will keep me going for ages and then there is KISS.
You have made my day.ππ·xxx
I know...but when you can't run you need somethingπ....
Iβm new to yoga and to Adriene. Iβm up to day 14 of 30 days and am really enjoying it so far - itβs the first strength and flex type regime Iβve stuck with. I am awful at it but starting to see tiny improvements. I liked day 6 which was abs day. I normally give up on ab routines because of all my previous surgery they are just too difficult. But I managed this one without hurting my neck and could feel if worked the right places.
That's great! Keep us posted - I'd love to know what you think when you've done the whole 30 days!! I did HOME in January, and it was the most yoga I'd ever done in my life π Very good though, I thought xx
Well Iβm like a fairy elephant. But I can see a bit of improvement in my hamstrings and hips already. And I look forward to it. Iβm just hoping I can keep it up when real life resumes. Iβll keep you posted.
