Oh I am so confused. Running at 3 times a week if not 4, cycling 2/3 times a week and I fluctuate between 13.8 & 13.12 since Jan. I get injured and don't run for 3 weeks but up my weights and do crossfit stuff. I weigh in at 13.2 this morning. How? Eating hasn't changed. Don't get me wrong I'm chuffed to bits but just very confused lol

I don't want to sound like a person lecturering you Johnny, I know that you are very passionate about your exercise regime but with all those injuries you seem to be having recently I think that you have been over doing it.
You should have at least a couple of weeks off any strenuous exercise and restart with a few short runs, both on the bike and running. No one here on Healthunlocked likes to read about any person who is always on the injury couch IC.
Thanks almorr, think you may have miss understood me. This is the same injury.
What I mean is that when I was running and cycling I wasn't moving in weight. The last 3 weeks since I can't run I've been doing more strength work and I've dropped nearly 6 lbs. Eating wise I haven't changed.
I do get where your coming from and it probably has took to this point to realise that yes I was doing too much. Things will change and I do have a new training plan in mind. Mentally I thought that running was everything cause I put so much into it to change my life around. So I was thinking if that stopped that would make me go backwards. Yet it won't as I know that now, that it's OK not to run. I won't be running until after my holidays in June. Next 6/7 weeks is to work on strength and conditioning which will give my heel plenty of time to heal and I won't be embarrassed to take top off at the pool, hopefully.
Very sensible decision Johnny, you can still enjoy your bike rides but don't go too far, I have been a cyclist for ages, the reason I took up running was that during the last few years instead of going 4 long cycle runs a week I have cut down cycling to 1 short run a week, that way it lets me concentrate on running which has sort of replaced the cycling I used to do.
It maybe that you’re hitting more fat burn than muscle build at the moment? Difficult to prove though unless you have the fancy scales that can measure/estimate these things.
I haven’t got the answer I’m afraid but I can not lose weight for love nor money when I train for a HM. Between June and November (out of season) I lose about 10lb then I up my exercise and bang no more weight loss. I have a diploma in nutrition and I just can’t fathom it out. The only way I can lose weight is to drop the exercise. The closest I can come to understanding it is I actually need more calories than I think I do when I exercise and when I don’t get them my body feel more stressed, lower the exercise and it feels more comfortable and will lose some pounds.
That makes a lot of sense... stress certainly puts a brake on weight loss which I think is related to the reaction the body has to under eating.
