How we doing with out Stregnth and Flex exercises.

Ok hands up from me I am lapsing a bit at the moment, this week I will make a concerted effort to get back to it properly.

I'm not the biggest fan of these exercises... I find them quite boring. But doing to try to finish up week 2 today!!!

Well done for keeping going. They are great for giving you a sound basis for moving on to different exercises. You will feel stronger by the end.

I am trying to incorporate the exercises when walking the dog in the forest (using trees, logs, piles of stones and the gate!). Sometimes I have used Week 1 of C25k and alternated 60 secs of running with 90 secs of exercises. Consistency or rather the lack of it, is the problem!

Sounds Like a great way to add them in. Sort of do them by stealth idea . 😀.

Ha, ha! Somehow I much prefer doing exercises outside, which is fine for the S&F exercises. The only problem is many of the core exercises are done on the floor .....perhaps I need to take a yoga mat to the forest 😉

I used to take one of these down to the park in the spring. It folds up and goes into a backpack.

Just finished off Week 3 (I alternate mornings of C25K and S&F) and I must say: I'm really looking forward to it being done. I've already started plotting how to use the time when I finish: I have a Pilates DVD that will be coming out, and will start rocking the NHS 10-minute workouts again. I would do both, but since my workout time is pretty firmly set (can't get to bed earlier, so I can't get up earlier, and I wake the household up for school/work) I can't really get to and from the park I use and add to S&F.

That said, I do feel the improvements in my posture and a bit in my core strength when doing other things, and I think I have Laura to thank for that.

My only real gripe is that in the warm up the exercises described for press-ups and rowing are switched!!

A friend at work who's just come back from maternity leave suggestrd we do couch to 5k in our lunchbreaks. Having just completed it, i advised against it due to sweat in the later weeks. Instead we have started strength and flex with another friend who can't run due to hip problems. We feel like wallies to be honest, walking around doing the exercises. Maybe our self consciousness will decrease as we progress.

I will be honest a lot of people have felt the same way. Some of us have ended up breaking the podcast up. Find a good spot and do all the Strength exercises and then go for a good walk afterwards, then do the flex ones all together at the end. I know it is not the exact podcast but some do find that is a better way to cope. 😀.
