I had knee replacement in left knee 18 years ago. Im having right knee replacement on my right knee in December. Then repair on my left knee next year. Just got through rotator cuff. Repair on left shoulder. Then it tore again and had reverse shoulder replacement surgery last July. So tired of surgery

Dear Audkoen65,

Wow....lots of surgeries and certainly understand how you are tired of surgery. Sometimes surgery is the only treatment that has a chance of resulting in improvement. Hopefully your right knee replacement will so smoothly....sound like you had the left knee replacement in for quite a while--18 years. Hopefully the next surgery on the left side (the revision knee replacement) is to put in a new plastic (polyethylene) insert? That is the plastic piece between the two metal parts of the knee replacement. Sometimes with years that plastic piece wears and needs replaced. Keeping your muscles strong in your legs is important to your recovery--I know this can be difficult when you have having pain, etc. but anything you can do now will probably make your recovery faster. Sending you healing thoughts...Mary
