Total Knee Replacement

I'm new here. I had severe pain in my right knee, could only walk slowly with the aid of a stick. I had a total knee replacement nearly 4 years ago. A great improvement. I still get some pain, but nothing like it was. Can walk pretty well as far as I want although still have to be careful up and down stairs or steep slopes. Regular exercise essential!

Sounds like you had a great improvement. That's great. Keep walking it will help you feel better

HAVING A TOTAL KNEE IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO STOP MOVING--TO THE CONTRARY, YOU NEED TO MOVE MORE. REMEMBER KEEP IT LOW IMPACT

That's essential. No point in having a new knee if you don't use it!

MIked46, Welcome to the community! Unfortunately knee replacement is not the same as a normal healthy knee, but usually a lot better than a bad, arthritis knee. Your comment that you have to be careful on stairs is not uncommon. Thank you for emphasizing how important regular exercise is, even for someone who has knee replacement!!!
