Hi All,: Just wondered I am having a... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Hi All,
I have Raynaud's and Scleroderma and get joint pain and stiffness but have no idea which condition causes it.
You just learn to live with it. not really any point pumping yourself full of drugs. Like above, not sure which condition causes it but there's nothing you can do to stop it . Do keep hands and fingers well lubricated as severe dryness can increase the tightness, but otherwise try and keep as active as is possible for you, and keep smiling (not always easy I know!) x
Sounds like you are in an inflammatory phase. You may wish to be tested to see if there are foods (e.g. wheat products, dairy products) which are not helping your condition in the long term. Cutting them out now might stop the disease from getting a tighter grip.
Hi everyone just wandered if any one can help with this. My hands keep going really dusky colour and little veins? capilleries? in my hand especially my fingers seem to suddenly blow causing instant severe pain then swelling and several days of it being very tender. I do not have to be doing anything I could just be sitting and it can happen. Is this the Raynauds does anybody know. I am still waiting to see a rheumatologist but my GP has given me nefederpine.
I have this 24/7 I do have extremely small veins i.e. they cannot get blood or canulate me. I've been waiting 42 weeks so far to see a rheumatologist apparently another 4 weeks I might get my appointment. Already diagnosed back in January by Dermatologist but now just waiting to see rheumatologist. I take nefedipine but really didn't get on with it. So having a break from it at the moment and will then return and try it again.
I am already on Codeine Phosphate as a pain killer (absolutely useless), I find paracetemol better.
Paracetamol combined with Codeine often works better. Watch for constipation tho.
SandraMarie - you are very brave!
Hi Newton, I really understand how you are feeling as I have been going through with very similar symptoms as yourself with the addition of muscular pain which has been diagnosed as fibromyalgia. I find taking hot showers and long soaks in a lovely warm bath helps. I apply local analgesia gels and take regular pain relief prescribed by my GP also helps with my symptoms........ Don't feel defeated, make an appointment to see your GP or contact your Raynauds and Scleroderma Nurse Specialist, I'm sure you'll find that they will offer you support or even arrange for your Rheumatologist to see you sooner......take care....hope all is well x
