I took Nifedipine for a couple of months earlier this year for what my GP thought was Reynauds, They made me light headed for the first couple of weeks and I also found that I put weight on. My fingers are starting to react to the cold again now and will probably get worse as it gets colder but I'm not keen on starting to take it again.

Hi, I've just started siledipine 25mg x3 daily like you. Experienced headache to start with but that seems to have passed. I couldn't tolerate nifedipine, just made me feel awful, didn't realise you could be put on both at same time. The side effects might lessen or be different this time. I hope the combination works well for you, this is the first year I've actually dreaded winter approaching

Thanks for the reply ! I'm going to experiment myself and stop the nifedipress mr and just take the siledipine 3x daily and see how I manage with that .. we're you given omeprazole as well ? This doesn't agree with me either ...

Yes i take omeprazole first thing in morning and last thing at night. I was diagnosed with Systemic Sclerosis few months back after 5 years of steadily worsening symptoms. Worst is the GI tract, got Barratts oesophagus and acid reflux. This caused chest infections as breathing gunk in, so sticking with omeprazole. Bowels are a nightmare 😆. But hey ho. Hope things going OK for you and medication gets sorted

I took it and it was great for my Ray's but have me terrible oedema in my ankles. I now take amlodipine which is less effective but nonetheless takes the edge off the ray's enough, but it only causes very mild oedema.

So play with it, if nifedipine causes problem then switch to another calcium channel blocker or consider other options eg Viagra, losartan K or fluoxetine .
