Reynauds or another medical issue?

Hi! I was diagnosed with Reynauds back in 2021 in the summer and at the time was under a paediatric consultant as I was not 18 yet. My symptoms started awhile before and I started with heaviness and tingling in my arms and legs and a lot of pain. I felt that the diagnosis was rather quick and the consultant felt my feet and immediately said Reynauds. I automatically questioned what all this pain is and the pins and needles and strange sensation that I experienced in my hands and feet and she said it was Reynauds. When I get in the shower I come out with bright red, blotchy skin that looks like a rash and she said it’s all down to Reynauds.

Fast forward to now, I have been referred to a Rheumatologist to investigate as the pain was becoming so frequent and happening when it was not cold. I was struggling at work and the pain was quite unbearable at certain points. My overall question is, can reynauds be so powerful and actually cause all of this? What is your most severe Reynauds symptom?

I’m really unsure if this is all to do with Reynauds. Does anyone else experience any of the same symptoms?

Thanks :)

Hi Cat, I was told by rheumatologist 2 months ago I have Raynaud's. Some of my fingers were swollen, red and blotchy. This has since pretty well settled but my main symptoms are stomach pain and migraines which can last a few days.Ive been on meds about 3 weeks. Hopefully you see the rheumatologist soon and get sorted. Good luck🙂

Raynauds can be quite painful but there might be other things going on so you need to get answers from a rheumatologist who'll order blood tests, it's a process of elimination really, good luck!
