Aldosterone, which is produced by adrenal glands, directly interacts with the Kidneys, balancing water, sodium, potassium, electrolytes and controlling BP too. It tells kidneys when to release these, or hold on to them, recycle, etc. Are there any other symptoms you have noticed, like a craving for salt, excessive or not enough urination, being more thirsty than usual, muscle cramping. Thyroid issues can also feed into this. Good luck sorting this out. My sister was experiencing spiking BP too, the doctor has her on an Ace inhibitor (she has RA).

Thank you so much. I am taking neomercole for thyroid..My thyroid function test is normal now , so it may hopefully be the reason for the spiking blood pressure

My rheumatologist recommended I contact them immediately if I see raised blood pressure. But if it was a short spike then I'm not so sure. No harm in at least calling I think?
