Hi, just wanted to ask if anyone has had or has calcinosis and tear in rotator cuff and if so, what has the outcome been?
Tear in rotator cuff: Hi, just wanted... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Tear in rotator cuff
I have had terrible shoulder pain for years and had 6 monthly steroid injections. A surgeon said I couldn't have any more injections and performed a surgery to scrape off the calcium deposits. Unfortunately it wasn't successful and although the ultra sound shows fewer calcium deposits than before, the pain is still bad. I am now back to having steroid injections but they are most effective when done under ultra sound rather than by by doctor. I am not totally convinced that the pain is only caused by calcium deposits and suspect a rotator cuff issue as well.
My husband had steroid injections for a rotator cuff injury which didn't work, but then had surgery to mend the rotator cuff - this was very successful and he can now use his arm again, whereas for several years he couldn't reach up or forwards at all. Everyone is different though.
