Hi there, I am quite surprised that your dentist is so concerned. They must have lots of people on their caseload on immunosuppression, such as MMF. There really shouldn't be any major issues unless you have other health complications that concern him/her in addition to your medication. If in doubt they can prescribe you a course of antibiotics to protect you. Perhaps your Rheumatologist could call or write a letter to the Dentist to reassure them and advise them how to proceed.

All my best

Lucy

Hi yes. You may need to go to hospital to have it done, I am on a medication where the healing process is lowered and in return could cause infection, same could be or similar for yourself. See if they suggest hospital as when you are on certain medications, the regulat dentist can't or are not able to do it for those type of reasons. Is the tooth just in a regular position? If it is then it most probably the issue with the medication and the side effects or what it could cause for you after surgery.

Hi Haulotte, my dentist is aware I am on Mycophenolate, and hasn't seen it has a problem. He has taken out 6 teeth over the past few years, (due to Scleroderma, they were v loose!!) the most recent at Christmas.
