>> If you ever have black numb or painful spots show up on your fingers or toes while you have Reynaud's acting up a fair bit - get it checked out. Even if it just looks like a blood blister, if you cannot remember knocking it, get it checked
I have ulcers that are slow healing, and had severe Reynaud's flares occurring daily. Had a little brown dot that slowly over the course of a week or so turn black. I cannot feel it, or the tip of my finger at all. But, saw GP, they did not recognize it as anything specific though were concerned about the Reynaud's, and that finger specifically for the ulcers, etc on it, too. But, saw the rheumatologist a few days later for a regular followup, and they've admitted me for iloprost infusion, wanted me in straight away but let me go home, get stuff sorted, come back in. But that little spot, that looked like a blood blister, ended up being necrotic tissue, am hence in hospital for that infusion now.
So, get it checked if it just doesn't seem right!

Yeah, ok, sitting in hospital atm, due for the second day of the five infusions today. As to the spot, just waiting and seeing, because got it early and it's so localized, hoping can leave it, but?And thank you, so much for your kind words and thoughts, matters the world
This is so true. I had them years ago when my raynaurds first became really severe. Had high dose of steroids from my GP who them made an urgent referal to rheumatology and then Iloprost the very next day! Really important that anyone who gets these black dots to gets them checked out, X
The GP did a three day course if steroids for me knowing I had the followup with the rheumy the say after that .Just was lucky that's how it worked out!
What a stroke of luck having your regular check-up with your Consultant. Really pleased they were quick to act and that you are ok. Thank you for the post as I do have Raynaud's and I will be vigilant.
Yes - this happend to me. I was told that it was "dry gangrene". I had to go into hospital for a seven day infusion of flolin. Ended up losing tip of me finger!!!
ok for pain try wild lettuce extract from ebay , wild mt rose herbs has it let me know how it works for you. love julie also ask about prazison 1 mg for raynauds ok. to help you sleep crush a sprig of rose mary under a warm bath tap.
I’m so happy you are getting the proper treatment. You are so right not to ignore any symptoms or colour changes, because it’s the damage behind the areas you can’t see.
Hope you iloprost goes well it tough in the body but hang in there. All the best.
That happened to me and I had the most horrendous digital ulcers on 2 fingers ,very painful and didn't heal for over 12 months. I had the Ileoprost treatment and the last one finally went a few weeks ago however there is now a dent in the end of my finger and no feeling there . Good luck with your treatment x
Yes, the black spots are soft tissue that turned necrotic (died) because of lack of blood supply. Sometimes I get a bit of pus with it too, which adds extra pressure and pain.It is important to act quickly when you get those ulcers (ideally prevent them before they occur). For me Sildenafil helps and I notice improvements when I up my dose.
