If I place my palms together in the prayer position they don’t meet and there is at least a 2” gap between all my bent fingers. The bends in my joints I’ve been told are caused by constrictures; I have systemic sclerosis, previously scleroderma. I’m not sure if this is what you are referring to?

Thank you for your reply. I posed the question on behalf of my girlfriend and I don't understand how her hands feel. She is seeing a spine specialist shortly. She has also been told it is not nerve damage. I can see the similarity of your description of your own hands to what her hands look like. Thanks again. David
