I have lots of mucus in my throat particularly first thing in the morning. I am forever coughing or clearing my throat but I can only feel it in one side of my throat, the other side feels numb. I do get acid reflux into my throat and last year suffered badly with aspiration although this year it hasn't been a problem. I saw an ENT consultant last year due to feeling of lump in throat and throat going into painful spasms which has now resolved and was told my throat looked normal. Does anyone else suffer from a numb throat?

Could this be reflux related? Have you asked your GP about trying and antihistamine?
Yes I have similar. I am not sure whether it is due to my nose often being always dry and congested in the mornings - maybe a post nasal drip from posterior nose bleeds which I often get. Or whether it’s due to reflux or other.
I have an overlap of Systemic Sclerosis and Sjogrens and I have recently been told that the loss of sensation is Sjögren’s small fibre neuropathy/ trigeminal neuropathy/ glosophyangeal neuropathy. I think I also have silent reflux and am guessing that the goo I produce is a mix of both diseases making my saliva more claggy and also some residual reflux despite treatment.nil waiting for my rheumatolgist’s referral to ENT for more assessments for Vasculitis but with Covid I think this will be a while away
Thank you for your reply. I test negative for Sjogrens although I do have dry eyes. I hope you don't have to wait too long for your appointment.
I only had dry eyes until recently plus RA type stuff and neuropathy, Raynaud’s etc. But before my systemic sclerosis showed up early this year in my blood, I had a lip biopsy 4 years ago and it was 100% positive for Sjogrens. It’s a systemic autoimmune disease too affecting about 30% of people with systemic sclerosis so it doesn’t always include dry mouth.
