Hello everybody, I hope you have had a good week. Well I took my granddaugher and her older sister to the Rose Theatre in York on Sunday to see Romeo and Juliet! It was fantastic, the actors were superb and the theatre ( the first pop up Shakesperean theatre in Europe) was like stepping back in time. Monday was library duty and board games, its amazing how competitive you can get over Ludo! haha. Tuesday was a boat trip, my granddaughter took lots of photos of the riverbank and then afterwards it was sausage and chips with curry sauce for lunch, ooh they were nice. Wednesday was a chill out day, dvds, and boards games. Thursday, my electric bike came out again, and with sandwiches etc, off we went, I even managed some great positions on it, you know the thing, leaning forward and a leg up behind you, talk about feeling like a child again, I resisted the great temptation of riding with no hands!! It was another night of star gazing on our star loungers, we were just amazed at how many stars were in the sky that night and has a added bonus the moon was crescent shaped, oh the wonder of it. Today, was a relaxing day, but we did make some apple pies, with the apples we collected on our bike ride. So thats the end of week 4, my granddaughter is going out for a meal tonight with her parents and 3 of her friends to celebrate her birthday, (which is tomorrow) . I shall pop up tomorrow (they only live up the road from me) to take her present, unfortunately I wont see her next week because her parents have a few days off and have all their days planned, I shall miss her very much. So folks, have a lovely week end, stay positive and dont forget to look up at the night sky, it surely takes your breathe away. Im still smiling and still waving, xxx
Summer hols, fun and laughter - Scleroderma & Ray...
Summer hols, fun and laughter
Well done Fairy sounds as though you all had a fab time glad you enjoyed post me some of your energy lol Kathy
Sounds like you had a great week together. Do you feel more energised after having such full days? I find that the more busy I am the better I feel as long as I don't make myself exhausted, but just pace things evenly. Have a peaceful week next week. X
Hello Katie, I think how I feel is down to my wonderful granddaughter! She may be only 12, but she is one of those human beings that are beautiful inside and out. Her enjoyment is contagious, and yes I do pace myself, but because she has juvenile arthritis we tend to work off each other. I am travelling down to Norfolk next week to see my mum, it takes 4 and a half hours so is quite tiring, cant say I enjoy the journey especially because I have to do it on my own, and I only stay a couple of days. Dont forget to look up at the stars tonight, it puts everything into pospective and makes me realise in the great scheme of things, how tiny we are. I have always thought that when we see the moon and or the stars, that people we love see the same night sky tends to keep us all connected. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and take care, xxx
Can I be your other Granddaughter next summer?
Hello Marie, of course you can, lets all act like children occasionally. It really does help with seeing things differently and just momentarily makes me forget all my symptoms, as long as I keep taking all the tablets of course, take care, enjoy the rest of the weekend, xxxx
Hi Fairy56 You are definitely a cup half full and overflowing writer and I'm sure that comes from knowing that you aren't alone and are connected to everything in the created universe. St Teresa of Avila, a middle ages mystic said that our souls are a vast and silent place. You may think you are only tiny, but really you are an amazing creation with the fullness of life flowing through you. You can see even beyond the stars!! There's a spark of the creator in each of us which is a wisdom deeper than the visible universe. Your lovely optimism is a reflection of that wisdom. Not many of us really tap into it, but once we have we'll never be the same 'tiny' creatures again. I hope your beautiful granddaughter enjoys her week with her parents and that your journey is much gentler on you than you expected. X
Hi, I would love to see some of your stunts! Spent most of the week in the toilet myself, seems this scleroderma lark is on the move again. Hey ho, I think I made a joke. Been at the hospital most of the day, does me good to go there as a reminder that there are people worse off than me. Just eaten cake and so waiting to go to my favourite room. If I last 30 minutes then I have done well. Just seen a robin on my garden seat, the world is a good place really. Love to you and your girls. Jan x
Hi, thanks for your reply, sorry to hear you have been poorly, did you manage 30 mins? what sort of cake was it? My favourite is coffee and walnut! hopefully this will make you laugh, my achievement today was getting my bra on in less than 5 mins, well actually it was 4 mins 30 secs!! Oh, and I do a great one legged dance putting trousers on haha. I spend a lot of time watching the birds coming into my garden, my granddaughter and I often wish we could fly, to feel that free. Sending love back to you, hoping you feel better soon, xxx
