Hello, all you wonderful people. Its been a month of hosp appts!! Lung function, bone density, thorasic echocardiogram and a clinic appt oh and joy of joys my mammogram. I know its all for the good, but it reminds me that as much as I try to convince myself I am a healthy 61 year old, my appts and medication screams at me " no you"re not". I have had some better days this month, and then the odd time when my stiffness and tightened dry skin hurts. This warmer weather has been good, but have any of you noticed that the slightest dip of temperature, like walking back into the house our friend Ray nauds appears! Hey, Will I let this condition think it"s beaten me? Like hell I will, infact it makes me more determined to overcome the daily battle, and okay I know I am able to do less than I used to, but I can still walk, if only slower, I can still get dressed, even if I have to fight with my bra!! haha, and zips, and buttons, and no I am not going to use any helpful gadgets. Because whilst I can still use my hands I will, even if it"s just to Smile and wave. On a lighter note I have spent a wonderful day with my granddaughter, breakfasting at Macdonalds, watching a DVD, oh and baking! and she"s having a sleepover tonight and we spend tomorrow together too, she makes it all better. I hope that you are all as well as can be, and I shall leave you all with, Smile and wave folks, smile and wave, x

You go fairy56! That's exactly how I look at it! Coping with broken wrist as well at mo but hoping plaster will come off tomorrow, do I let it stop me - why should I? Still driving - still writing, still working . . . . Enjoy the good days, take the bad days slowly and do what you need to do - no-one understands more than us what we can and can't do. BTW I gave up wearing a bra!!!! Just a thermal undervest - so liberating! Smile and wave, smile and wave xxxxxxx

Hello Fairy66. I can identify with all you say - especially the wonderful bouts of the old Raynaud's in mid-summer. I rejoice on the days when it's warm enough to sit in the garden and maybe pull a few weeds (literally a few as my legs and back let me down) but I like to feel that I've accomplished something. My grandchildren (3 boys) are all grown up now but we have the cutest great-grandson ever. He calls me GG (pronounced gee-gee) short for great gran. He's just turned two and he brightens up my days. We have two more great grandchildren due this summer. I'm busy on the hospital sessions too at the moment. Haematology tomorrow (they're not happy with my blood) and I'm awaiting an appointment with the Neuro-something dept (forgotten the word the consultant used) because the horrible tight skin on my feet is preventing me feeling things - I think it's some sort of nerve test. I've also been referred to the eye department. I suppose one thing we can say about this disease is keeps you well occupied trotting backwards and forwards to hospital appointments - at least we can say it's not boring I seem to have to visit so many different departments. Hi five to everyone: we'll not let it get us down. Hugs all round.
