I work as a doorman. My station is located right between 4 doors and 2 big air conditioners. Every summer I feel sick in my groin. Probably, the cold air is constantly penetrates my body and its not good. ladies and Gentlemen, does anybody has an idea how to protect yourself in my situation?

Hi, the only thing I can suggest is thermal underwear. I am sure you would have already thought of that, but then again, wearing thermals in summer is not ideal. Maybe some heat pads might help.

you can ask for a change in position or them to make changes with way things work as explain you have Raynauds it's on the list of work related things as comes in with white finger.

They can't refuse you

I canrelate. I have to wear business attire to work and on surgery days it is very very cold in the office. I dress in layers even in the summer to keep my core warm. I also use a microwave heat pack to keep my hands warm. Perhaps pocket warmers would work for you if your hands are cold too.

Good luck.

Summer can be torture indoors. I hate it. They all gave great advice. As for ‘they cant refuse you’ about changing anything about your job to accomodate Raynauds - Im not sure about that. Lets not get too much into ‘our rights’. Its an autoimmune disorder not understood.

If the above suggestions dont work then its time to look for a different job... I hope your summer goes well. Ugh I hate this disease.

I found recharable clothing helps. Gloves vests socks long underwear... warma Wear is one in Britian. Power in Motion has very sleek clothing in Calgary AB Canada but is pricey. Google heated cothing. It is what made it possible for me to work

This might sound odd but the construction people wear pantyhose under clothes to stay warm, less bulky & able to move around better.
