Found a venue for meeting in Birmingham, who wants to come?

Hi Folks, after seeing a couple of places yesterday (Friday), I think I've found somewhere that is quiet enough to speak/chat and be heard but busy enough to just sit and look at the world passing by outside (if you don't want to talk etc). It's the Railway, Savoy Buildings, Hill Street, Birmingham B5 4AN. It's cheap so ignore the expensive sounding building name. It's situated just outside one of the entrance/exit points of Grand Central train Station. It's now a question of who wants to come and when. If you want to throw some dates and time scales and we can all get a plan together.

Which month did you think you would hold it? I have a very busy April May. Moving house 17th April then 4 days in London. In May another 5 days in London then family staying for 2 weeks. Will try and fit in and around you all.

Hi, I don't know at the moment. All depends on who else is coming. I was open on when to meet, so April or May or even June. I think if we make a plan and date, it'll give folks time to put it in their dairy's etc. I'm keeping it open minded so I can get as many people on board with this meeting. If there's only 3 or 4 of us, so be it. Something to look forward to I think.

Hi there. I live in Kent but would love to come along please.? What great a thing you are doing. I would be limited to a Saturday unless it was in the school holidays. Then any day should be fine. May half term, or after 12th July. Then off school. B good to have a date in diary. Be so great to speak to you.

I hope it works too because it's easy to type and once you press send, that's it, it's all over till a reply comes. With a group meeting, it's much more I think. You can put a face to the name so to speak and relax in an informal atmosphere. Just need to get folks on-board with the idea, I know it's scary and stressful at first, but after the initial few scary seconds of meeting, I'm hoping it'll be a heck of a more relax setting and folks can chat, chill out and just have a nice time, weather it be with food, drink or just to show a face and say hi.

Totally agree with you. 'It's good to talk.' So the old to add use to say. Showing my age now🙃 If it all works out. It would be great todo annually or something. I meant to say about school hols. I don't have children but still teach part time a few hours a week. While I can, I will. I enjoy it and more than anything the children cheer me up. look forward to hearing from you. Bye😊

Just checked half term dates and it all depends on where you live, it looks like it starts either the 21st or 28th May. I think meet 1st August when we'll have to most opportunity to get most folks as no school and plenty of time to relax and look forward to it. Any thoughts would be greatly welcomed?

Hi Jen3131, no need to apologise, we all need a holiday. Hope it was lovely wherever it was. I think Saturday's might be busy at this venue but I'm open to doing it Saturday if it helps.

I went to Spain. The weather was perfect for me - not too hot or cold. So very little Raynauds impact and my hands were less swollen generally.

I guess a Saturday might be too busy. I could book a day or afternoon off with Notice.i couldn't come on a Thursday or Friday though.

Glad to read the Raynauds was kept at bay. I'm just waiting on a reply from a job interview I went for, soon as I hear from that, I'll be in a better position to say what day.

That's good news - congratulations. I have put the date in my diary. Even if my work colleague is off (school hols etc) I could could work a part day and get to Birmingham for 1pm. Thanks

Busy times indeed and looking forward to it lol. I'm not sure what the Birmingham Satayiob is? It is right by Birmingham New street train station, I think they call it Grand central station now as it's all been done up. Look forward to meeting everyone too. I have secondary Raynaud's.
