For some time now, the top of my head gets very sore and tender, I don't know what causes it, I have raynauds and other things going on but it really hurts sometimes and can hardly touch it, it doesn't last long but anyone know what it could be?

Tender scalp
Hi marie , i have sjogrens and raynauds and i went through a phase for several months where my scalp was painful to touch and at night when my head touched the pillow it burned . I managed to find black seed oil in a tiny shop in town as the the large chain didnt sell it . I rubbed in a very small amount at night and after a few weeks the pain disappeared. I don't know if it was the oil that help or if the pain phased out but it maybe is worth trying. My sister-in-law takes a spoonful each morning for oa pain , it tastes disgusting but she sticks with it !
Hi weathervane, thanks for that, I'll certainly look out for that and give it a go
I've had several phases of this. Both my GP and rheumatologist laughed when I asked it it's related to scleroderma. However, I did some online research and found it is very common in scleroderma.
It was even painful to brush or dry my hair, and like you, I had a horrible feeling of burning at the back of my head (so much so I had to check in mirrors that there wasn't something on my scalp.)
I've not had a phase of this for a few months, so hopefully yours will ease off too.
Wretched disease!
hi dunhorse, it's not nice when you get laughed at, everyone has different symptoms, no two people are alike but sometimes there are general patterns and as you say online the information is there. Thing is if you don't mention things and they're proved to be related then they would say 'why haven't you mentioned it before so it pays to have things documented, it's a learning game, for everyone!
I have this too! Especially when I am overtired or stressed out. I didn't think it could be connected to my Scleraderma and Raynauds until now.
It's surprising the things that seem to crop up, I've looked on internet and it mentioned temporal arteritis which has vascular connections. Don't want to read too much into things though, it can get depressing! Interesting to see why or if this does connect to raynauds though, any docs out there I wonder?
I get this as well! And I agree that I think it's worse when I'm stressed or out of sync with my routine. Am also wondering whether it's aggravated by diet -eg sugar or caffeine- does anyone have any insights on that perhaps?
Hi Lovesjuly, I still get this from time to time and I hadn't thought to connect it to sugar! I do have a very sweet tooth though and will certainly monitor what I eat from now on although I'm very good with my basic diet. Stress doesn't help for sure! Keep well
