Spinal Fusion

Hello

I'm about to have a spinal fusion and was wondering if any other sclerry peeps have had the same and if your sclerry kicked off afterwards. I'm having a bone graft from my left hip and am worried it may weaken it as its the first of three. 😟

After surgery, illness and stress you can have a flair. I learned after five surgeries and not having a direct diagnosis until after them. I have had a four level fusion at cervical level. Fourish years later still muscle spasms and now tightening of skin. I suggest looking into natural remedies to help with going through surgery. Eat well and relax or meditate. Your well being helps in healing!

Thanks Littleleni. I haven't even come close to being in remission in 12 years and have had major surgery every one of those years but this is my first major bone surgery, so naturally worried. How long was your recovery?

At least 2 to 3 months. You need to follow dr instructions. Wear the collar when he says too. Rest etc. actually it was

One of my easier surgeries! They only went in the front of my neck not the back ( that is harder) I had a great doc. When u have the surgery if you have any questions I would be glad to help if I can😊when is ur surgery date?

One more thing, I used cadaver bone, cause taking the bone from the hip is like another surgery.

Thanks. It doesn't sound too bad, I've had several open abdominal surgeries and they were horrible, so if i can get through those it should be fine. I've had to wear collars before so that doesn't worry me. It will be great yo get it done

I've had 3 levels I'm my neck along with spinal cord & root nerve decompression. Have metal cages along with plates & they used artificial bone to fill cages but unfortunately the 3rd vertebrae has slipped forward into the spinal canal & is putting pressure on the spinal cord. I'm actually due to go in to hospital for the surgery on Tuesday!

I didn't have any issues with my SSc after. But did have to stop the max. Didn't wear a collar afterwards and the relief from the nerve pain & cramps etc was great.

Hope all goes well with your surgery
