I have grown a big lump on top of my head this year. Today a gp squirted it with liquid nitrogen which isn't as exciting as it sounds, jolly cold though. I had read that scleroderma can increase the likelihood of solar keratosis. He said it can make you more sensitive to sunlight. I've not heard that before. Has anyone else?

Hello, Yes I have a lump on my head for a couple of years, I have Scleroderma. I have had the nitrogen treatment, I have have 2 biopsies which just showed inflammation. I just ignore it now, but feel sort of embarrassed when I go for a hair cut. I also think it is solar problem and always wear a hat in the sun, as well as a warm hat in the cold. Sorry this is not a solution, but at least you know you are not on your own.

In relation to everything I have it doesn't really matter, but it is kind of annoying. It is about the size of a large grape perched right on top of my otherwise bald head. I don't go out an awful lot and it grew when the weather was poor. I generally wear a hat when it is sunny.

My first answer was a bit of a potted history. I lived in York, but was seen with the Scleroderma in Leeds. The lump first started in summer of 2015, I saw a Dermatologist in Leeds who said it was sun damage, I am fair skinned, with fine blonde hair so not a lot to cover the top of the head. He zapped it with Liq N and said it would fall off within 6 wks, which it did. However it came back. We were expecting to move house before Xmas, but that didn't happen. I went to my GP in Dec 2015, who also thought it was sun damage, gave me some Solaraze cream, but he took a picture of it and sent it to the Dermi in York. I was seen within a week, they must have thought it was skin cancer. They took a biopsy, I left the hospital with a big bandage around the top of my head and under the chin. The biopsy was inconclusive so they did another in Jan. I was told both showed it was inflammation. As I was then expecting my house move I was told to put on Savlon and if it didn't go away see my new GP. Two house moves later it is still here, but I haven't seen my GP about it, not have I mentioned to my new Rheumy specialist at Salford. It is not as big as yours but still annoying, but as you say in relation to everything else it is quite minor. i still think it is sun damage though.
