With Raynaud's and scleroderma we are all tired it is part of it, things are cyclical. They come and go.

Hi, I wrote a post about fatigue :)

Hi Impieroni,

I suffered continuous fatigue during the first years of immunosupression, it got better gradually. Now, 15 years later it is a foreign word, I swim an hour every day and do a lot of gardening. I cannot remember any fatigue since this century began, so please do not dispair, it really can get better. At 63% DLCO I obviously cannot climb hills nor run up the stairs, but a normal lifestyle is still possible. Best wishes.

Tiredness for me comes and goes, but just pace myself, Sootie I liked your reply to Impieroni, however was surprised about swimming being a regular activity that was allowed due to the high risk of picking up infections.

I live in Spain, (12 yrs) swim in my own pool or in the municipal one during winter months. Never had any infections, I stopped immunosuppression in 2001, so my defenses are ok. I can go on gardening for 8-9 hrs if I pace myself. Slow and steady works very well, I do not lift and do not climb. My physical fitness improved beyond expectations; 20 years ago I was all day in bed, dragged myself upstairs on my elbows, had double vision and couldn't hold my head upright for several hours every day. Good luck everyone. :-)

What meds are you taking? Plaquenil helped lift my debilitating fatigue considerably. Be sure that your ferritin levels have been checked as well as hemoglobin and hematocrit, it is possible for low ferritin to go undetected while the more routinely monitored tests register as normal. Do you know if you have diffuse or limited scleroderma? I hope that you get the help you need and start to feel better soon.
