What sun cream to use?

Hi everyone, I hope today was one of your better days. Anyway I am going to Tenerife in August with my daughter, son in law and  2 grand daughters, any suggestions as to what brand of sun cream to use, bearing in mind I take mycophenolate. I know it has to be 50 factor. Update on how my life is going,  another hospital appointment last week, ref mouth ulcers, now being referred to oral medicine. June looks to be busy with more hospital appointments, at least I am being looked after! This condition can be a lonely one, especially because I live alone, divorced. Keep strong everyone.

Hi Fairy56, I have MCTD with awful sun sensitivity and take Myco too.  My Consultant prescribed me La Roche-Posay 50+ comfort cream with Anthelios XL.  It also comes in a tinted version which is also available on Prescription. Have a lovely holiday.

Hello there,  I always use Sunsense Factor 50 Daily Face on an everyday basis, but the other year my friend gave me some Neutrogena Ultra SheerSPF100 Dry Touch Suncream.  Her Aunt lives in America and Factor 100 is readily available.  When I read your post I had a look on amazon and I see it is available there priced at £10.49.  I found it was a great cream to use.  Much lighter than a lot of the gloopy factor 50s that you get.  My experience though is that regardless of whether you have covered yourself with sunscreen you still need to be covering up with hats and clothes and staying in the shade where possible, because the way they test these creams does not really reflect the reality of wearing them and we usually have less on than is recommended.  Have a lovely holiday!

Nothing to say on sunscreens....don't go out much. But...on mouth ulcers I use Corsodil mouth wash daily which does help a lot...and keep a tube of bonjella handy too.

I use La Roche.  I don't know if this is available in the UK.

Hi I've also used Sun Sense for years since I dicovered it in Australia where they know about sun creams, I love it, you can buy it here now, John Lewis sell it and you can get it online.  Good to hear about the other recommendations though.
