I've been diagnosed with systemic scleroderma and hashimotos for getting on 15 years now. I'm 59. Although I am fairly well on meds for both conditions... Mycophenolate and losartan & the inevitable Levothyroxine 150 I know I'm not as well as I could be.....aches,fuzzy head , cold ,fluctuating energy levels and weight etc . It's difficult to know which condition to blame for which ailments and like so many folk have a rubbish GP who doesn't know or isn't interested in looking deeper into any of it. I live healthily avoiding as much chemical as possible, eating sensibly and taking supplements of the important kind. Does anyone else suffer with both? I was diagnosed with both at the same time.

Hi I have both - I have hypothyroid diagnosed a few years before. I think it's as a result of the immune system attacking the thyroid gland so just another trigger happy immune system result, like Sclero. Iodine is good to get into your diet (seaweed is a good source, I get it dried in tesco from the world food aisle) for the thyroid function.
Intermittent fasting works well at resetting the immune system so too does avoiding sugar and fruit sugar. I don't touch any cereals either. Oily fish for the omega 3/6 balance and vitamin D supplements. Lots of consistent sleep - we get to bed early like a little old couple in our house
