As some of you know I ran London marathon 5 weeks ago after being diagnosed with systemic sclerosis and secondary raynauds in December. I am thinking of trying to complete an ultra marathon next year which is 62 miles from London to Brighton. I want to raise both money and awareness for scleroderma in the UK. I know it effects everyone differently but you guys have more experience than I. Do you think it's possible to run 62miles over 17 - 18 hours ? I run approx 20 miles a week cuttently.

Omg you are amazing....walking one mile for me is worthy of celebrating! Whatever you manage I applaud you! ππ πΎ
Thank you. The marathon 26 miles wad far from easy and man the months of training was hard but so worth it in the end
Iβd say youβd know best what you can do (and donβt let ssc limit that judgement)
I am confident that I could do it now with the right training but a year away is a long time and alot can happen. That's what worries me most I think
That goes for everyone in the world; go for it. Donβt let ssc frighten or change you x
Wow wats ur secret, I find most things hard work
WOW - that's amazing! You know yourself better than anyone - if you think you can do it, why not? Keep us updated . . . .lots and lots of positive waves being sent your way xxxxx
Well done you!!! If you think you can do it, go for it. You're doing brilliantly already x
If you feel youβre up to it then do it while you still can. You go girl and good luck ππ
You are extraordinary. My condition is cyclical and unreliable I could not commit myself but then I am 88.
Good job! In my experience Scleroderma will limit you as much as you let it. I at one point I could barely get out of bed and I started doing yoga thinking that if I was lucky I might be able to somewhat function better. Over a few months I slowly progressed to where I now can do yoga poses that I would have not thought I would be able to do even before my Scleroderma diagnosis. Another thing for me that helps keep my symptoms down is careful attention to my diet and limiting toxins in my food and environment. Keep working on doing what you like and be happy. Best of luck to you!
