Does anyone have a problem with 'Jaw Ache'? I get woken in the night with a ache/pain in my left jaw. It seems to hurt more when I rest it!

Yes I had this problem but it went away on it's own. Took about a month. Hope yours does the same!

Good luck

I don't think mine will, have had it since Dec 2013, thanks for your reply.

Hi Kris, do you clench your teeth involuntarily? This can be while awake or sleeping.

You say that you wake up in the night with this complaint. This suggests an unconscious reaction.

Stress can manifest itself either consciously or unconsciously, or both. I know because I have experienced it. This might sound ridiculous but make a real effort to program your mind to relax and rest.

It may be linked to what you are doing when awake and asleep if there are any stress issues involved . If so this could be stress related. Your GP will give you good advice with this. Take Care.

Hi

I had terrible jaw pain and it would travel into my ears, like you it would wake me at night and often when chewing my jaw would crack. My rheumy said that this is indicative of Sjorgrens which often goes hand in hand with Scleroderma. I started on Methotrexate in Dec and after a while the pain lessened. The methotrexate is not working so well now and the pain is returning. I have been told that it is to do with degenerative connective tissue. I am starting on Cyclophosphamide soon so will see what happens. I would be surprised if an xray shows anything but let me know. Helen
