Is it normal to have blue lips?

Hi all, I have mild raynauds and hypothyroidism. On most days my lips (especially the top lip) turn blue randomly throughout the day. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm hot/cold or whatever... Several people point it out to me all the time.

So are blue lips like this a normal symptom of raynauds?

Hi. I don't know if it's normal but thought you might like to know that I too get blue lips. I think because people notice it more you get a bit paranoid ! I have mentioned to doc with no definitive answer but they don't seem bothered. I have had this symptom for a while and figure it's just Raynaud's. Niky

Yes, I would think it "normal" for Raynaud's. Lips are an extremity. we do go funny colours. laugh about it.

I would say yes I often get a red or blue nose to which I really find even more embarrassing but have now learnt it is part of raynauds and em along with blue or white hands or fingers hope this helps you Victoria 27 .

Yes, this is all part and parcel of raynauds. The blueness only reflects the lack of oxygen. This is nothing to worry about. Some people pay good money to look like we do in the winter!
