Time to moan!!

Im fed up with the cold all ready,.

my fingers are swelling and have that really annoying ache with random shooting pains that go up each finger (weridly only three fingers get it even though that all have the same level of raynauds).

Im having loads of raynauds attacks every day anyhting from lasting a few mins to a few hours. From mildly annoying and barely noticable to really rather sore.

I have had things far far far far worse before so dont know why i am feeling annoyed about it, maybe because i had such a good summer (treatment and other cautions ie gloves etc worked perfectlly) and had almost 'forgotten' what it was like to have raynauds.

On a positive note the people who i work with (in my new team) have found out i have raynauds (i had to go for an appointment and they asked what for) I explained what it was. They were so supportivie for example a few days after our conversation, when i had to go outside on the playground unexpectidly they bought me my coat without me asking and other little things like that. It makes a really nice difference to know that people understand, i have worked some where before where i told them about raynauds and yet was still told i had to go outside to supervise the children in the snow (i had really severe chil balnes at the time to).

Moan over i shall just 'man up' and get on with the winter.

I like your moan. I need to moan sometimes, then I remind myself of a piece in Willy Russell's The Wrong Boy (great book). He is eleven and has had a lot of trouble, he goes to his gran and tells her. She replies : "Self pity never peeled potatoes". I still need to moan.

Everyone needs to have a moan. It makes us feel better. Also I enjoyed it because I have been thinking the same. Its different when you hear it from someone who is suffering in the same kind of way instead of friends and family who may not quite get it. Roll on summer time! ;)

It's nice to hear other people moan about raynauds (and associated illness's) - I feel like complaining a lot just now as my raynauds (like everyone else's) is getting really bad but I feel bad and think people will get bored hearing me moan.... I started a new job a few weeks ago and have managed to aquire a heater that sits right behind me - it was the only thing I mentioned once I accepted the job as the office I'm now working in is really cold - my office is mostly warm now and thankfully my colleagues get cold too so they don't complain about the heating being on. There are some nice people in the world who at least try to understand what we go through but I guess it's hard to get it if you don't suffer from cold, numb hands on a regular basis. Unfortunately I've tried every medication my docs can think of but nothing has worked so I need to look out my handwarmers out soon.... I hope you all find ways to keep warm! x

There is a product out there called Heat Bands, they go around your wrists and amplify the heat you can produce. They aren't a cure, but they do help.
