Adalat LA tablets are a 'long-acting' or 'prolonged-release' form of nifedipine. They are designed to release the nifedipine slowly and continuously over 24 hours, producing a steady blood level of the medicine throughout the day.
Adalat is the preferred form recommended by the association since it tends to have fewer instances of the reaction that users report when on standard Nigedipine, or so I've been lead to believe.
