Does anyone get spasmodic dysphonia with Raynaud's attacks?

I have these each time I have some sort of attack. I'll kinda zone out, my legs will go cold and then my throat will feel like someone is strangling me :(.. then I can't talk or when I do it's just a strangled voice. Any help would be most welcome!

I've never had these events as part of a Raynauds attack.I'm not a medic but some of what you say sounds like a partial seizure.

You can have a a Raynaud's attack in almost any part of your body. For example you may experience a Raynaud's attack in the gullet if eating or drinking anything really cold. If the symptoms persist you should insist on being referred to a rheumatologist who may arrange for some tests.

I bought an electric blanket. It is very cosy. A nice solution against cold weather.

Hi, I have Small Vessel Disease and it presents as 'whole body' Raynauds and coronary small vessel disease. In other words I have vasospasms or spasms in the small vascular system.

I get the Raynauds typical fingers/hands, toes/feet, lips, nose, ears but I also get jaw/neck, lower abdomen, heart and willy! When I have a major event (every 4 to 6 weeks) I go completely white and cold, (as if dead) and a-typical heart attack symptoms, even blowing a balloon up (exertion) can trigger an attack as well as temperature change and emotion. (sound familiar)

Doc's don't seem too sure what is related to what and what to call things? All my medication is designed to keep my arteries/veins (especially my heart) open but as yet they have not totally succeeded

Hi Kel, thank you for your response. Its a small comfort that at least someone else on this planet has something vascular that does strange things - even though it's absolutely horrible for you (sorry!). Do you get problems when it's too hot also? Have any hospitals/doctors been of any help to you?

Last week I developed Dysarthria, which is horribly scary.. I went to my GP, she thought I may have had a small stroke and then sent me to hospital. The Dr there thought the same even though a bleed didn't show on the CT. Then the stroke dr came along saying it was 'functional'.. no consideration for any of my other conditions or medications (they didn't know what they were!). When I was discharged I decided to take an extra dose of nifedipine and that released the issue and i got my voice back! I would assume something somewhere is getting blocked or cramped and its causing some of the symptoms.

Who knows!

Yes. I know this is old, but did you get any answers? With my SD, it feels like someone turned nitrogen on, like when you're at the dentist, then voice goes. I also have Raynauds which is primary. When it lifts, I'm back to normal and can talk again.
