I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2016. I was given a CPAP machine. I could not use it. I t hurt my face because of allodynia and my head felt it was going to explode. I am now getting an oral device to wear at night 2000 Euro. The dental man that makes these devices said it is very important to treat apnea as your body does not get enough oxygen at night and then you feel exhausted the next day. I am 71 this week and have migraine since I was 12. I was only diagnosed 13 years ago when I saw a neurologist and he said I have chronic migraine, anxiety and depression. All treatment that I have had including inpatient I have had no response. My Mother died very suddenly after her lunch in 2018 and he said my migraines went through the roof.Me and my brother were looking after her for 11 years. She was 95. I do not know what I would only for my brother. He comes with me to all my appointments. I also had 2 TKR. My right knee has come loose but surgeon said he could not put through another operation at the moment. I go to a physio every few weeks. I was with my rheumatologist as I now have fibromyglia in whole body caused by the migraines as the pain is so bad. I am now getting VYEPTI infusion, but I am not due to go to 300mls till end of January. I am seeing my headache doctor in a couple of weeks and I am going to ask can I go to 300mls in November. If it does not help me there is nothing else here in Ireland to try. I have private health insurance but I have lost count of how much money I have paid doctors and some of the meds. I guess you get your treatment and meds on NHS. I think you should talk to doctor about getting a CPAP or oral device . Hope this is of help. Regards 195fifi
My auntie, who is my mum's twin sister has fibromyalgia as does one of my best friends.
My dad passed away in March 2019 after a short but very bravely fought battle with terminal lung cancer due to smoking cigarettes.
Yes I do get my medication on the NHS as myself and my fiancé are on universal credit, although someone who replied to a post I did on another site called it "universal coffin", which made me laugh as I'd told the person that posted the comment that it's better name than universal credit.
