What is this thing called SLEEP!

Don't think I have ever been a sleeper.Every night is a new adventure, will I feel sleepy or just too tired to feel sleepy.I cannot let go and I am up and down countless times.I even turn heat off and let it get cold so I can get up and feel the chill on.my body and then jump back in bed to get warm and toasty.....nothing,just a lesson in futility. Then I think of things that happened 20 yrs ago,the ruminating stage, then toss and turn,it is a nightmare! I would b willing to have nightmares if I could just sleep.Glad to know there r so many of u out there!

Interesting. I relate to every point. Sleep is necessary, needed, wanted and craved for. Your own mind will take you on a slight mad journey amongst memories long forgotten, and desperately search for a way to dive right on in to the land of nod. If only. Good luck for tonight.

I keep waking up for hours. I’ve tried meditation, self hypnosis tapes but if it’s really bad I take Xanax. But I’m trying not to take it too much because my body gets used to it. Maybe your doctor can give you something that works for you. Not sleeping is miserable. I’m in the process of moving so it’s worse than ever but if it keeps up after we move I’ll get professional help. Maybe CBT for anxiety, not sure but counseling’s always a good option

It sounds from this as if your insomnia is sometimes made worse from stress. Do you take anything for anxiety? They say moving home is right up there as one of the most stressful things we do. I agree, getting professional help could be a really good way to go next. Good luck with the move. Dawn
