Adrenaline rush : Hi I wondered if anyone have... - Sleep Matters
Adrenaline rush
hi, yes I have this, it is very scary indeed. I suffer less than I used to. I also used to experience 'pinging' and the sensation that something had literally exploded in my head. firstly, at the time this was at it's worst, I was worrying about my health and as bedtime approached I became anxious. I allowed myself to get beyond tired because I was afraid to lie down. this only made the problem worse. this feels like a circular problem, round and round with no way out, yet we do things without realizing, that we are actually developing a real pattern of behaviour. can I ask you do you have a carbon monoxide alarm in your home? I was poisoned over a long period of time and this was only discovered following an explosion in my home. I suffer with health problems and my life is very different now. I feel I need to make others aware, especially when you mention the night time symptoms you describe. if you are certain that your home environment is safe, then I suggest that these symptoms are very similar to exhaustion and anxiety. please let me know how you are.
Hi 😊 Thanks for replying,I think it is to do with anxiety and over thinking things.... if I go to bed around 10 pm I start to fall asleep and that's when it starts it happens about 15 times before I can get to sleep it's so frightening I eventually get to sleep about 1am and then I am shattered the next Day,the only time I don't have it is when I have alcohol!stupid I know but it must relax me or something hope you are ok x
I am so glad to hear from you, perhaps keeping in touch will be supportive? You are right, the natural thing to do is anything that stops it from happening. But, think rationally about that too and it is clear that if is was a health problem of a serious nature... alcohol definitely wouldn't stop it! When bed becomes a place we dread, even sub-consciously, our amazing mind starts to play tricks. There will be an answer to this, we will work it out. keep in touch and if either of us comes up with any ideas or tips, put it on here asap? a deal? lol.
