Long term use of Melatonin

I was prescribed Melatonin in 2015 as a short term solution to sleep issues I had at the time. The drug certainly helped but I have consistently used it now for 5 years and have a feeling it’s causing irregular sleep patterns and vivid dreams. Can anyone offer any advice on this please?

I use it and do get vivid dreams too. How old are you and what is the dose?

Ive been on it for nearly 4 years but have had a few episodes of fatigue over that period. I think its a shitty drug and I genuinely feel its the contributor to my health issues

Sorry Alex, I was talking about another drug I am having issues with. The Melatonin I take is between 3 & 6 mg. It depends on tiredness etc.

I use it, but don't think that it helps much with sleep for me. If you are older it might help. It is a powerful antioxidant, so may be beneficial in other ways. My current favourite sleep aid is an app called insight timer. Lots of guided meditation. Search for yoga nidra sleep and see if any of those help
