Hi,

I have Sjogrens and Lupus my sense of smell has increased so much lately. I’m finding it is impacting food I am eating. It’s really bad at the moment.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

I had a Heightened sense of smell when i was pregnant long before i was diagnosed with Sjögren’s. Now i sometimes get phantom smells when i can smell cigarette smoke , when no one is smoking ( non smoking house) , it can be quite disturbing. It might be worse discussing with your gp .

Thank you so much for your reply. The first time it happened was in 2020 immediately after I had a stroke. This eased a bit after I caught COVID but heightened again recently. Do you find it worse when your Sjogrens symptons are bad / flare?

Thanks again .
